second part

9 people who will make you very very happy

See all those pictures up there? Some of these folks are new faces on the fundraising scene who are coming up with fresh ideas, and others have been around for a long long time.  But they have something in common – they know the secrets of raising money in this recessionary environment.

I’ll bet you are pretty worried about your fundraising success right now. And I am too, for all of my clients and nonprofit friends.  So I tracked down the experts who I trust the most and asked them for some guidance.  I interviewed them to find out specific tactics we can all do to make sure we succeed, even in this tough time.

three simple strategies

• Planning: One expert shared his carefully timed 5-step strategy.
• Messaging: Another told exactly how to use storytelling in your appeal to draw in our donors quickly.
• Multiple channels:  And just about everyone said we must use different, complementary media channels to communicate our appeal – with the same message in each channel.

your own fundraising coach

I know that is what I was thinking.  But these folks are expensive. And it’s almost impossible to gather them in one place to talk to us. You and I don’t have the budget – or the time — to trek around the country attending conferences here at the end of the year.

But the good news is, you don’t have to – because I’ve lined up the next best thing.

I’m getting on the phone with each and every one of these experts and asking them for the best strategies, tactics and ideas that they personally recommend.  I’ll be distilling the best of what they’ve learned from their hard-earned experience.  Together we’ll single out the most important lessons that you can apply to your own fundraising right now to start seeing some serious growth in your year-end contributions.

personal one on one session

If you wanted to get an hour of question and answer time with any of these experts so they could tell you how to raise more money this fall, you’d be limited to one of two options:

Paying their hourly rate for consulting (expensive!)

Or grabbing them for a glass of wine at a conference (unlikely!)

Fortunately, these nine experts are taking my calls – and I’m bringing the wine (well at least on my end!).  And I’ll be asking them the meaty, “what-can-we-do-right-now” questions that will give you clear direction on what to do now to start seeing your fundraising appeal responses grow again.

It’s like having your own private mastermind group of experts dedicated to showing you how keep your donors happily giving to your cause.   As they lay out all of the successful tactics that are working for them, you can take all the notes you need to build your own winning strategies.

2009 year end fundraising strategies

Here’s what you’ll be learning when you tune in to the 2009 Year-End Fundraising Strategies Telesummit:

Mal Warwick

I can’t remember when I first ran into fundraising guru Mal Warwick’s name. It seems like his guidance and writings have always been a part of my fundraising library – and my strategies. I liked him because he was able to put direct marketing concepts in simple, very usable terms.

He has just released his 19th book: “Fundraising When Money is Tight: A Strategic and Practical Guide for Surviving Tough Times and Thriving in the Future.” He’s widely in demand as a speaker and workshop leader throughout the world and his following is clearly worldwide.

• I’ll be interviewing Mal for a full hour on how to help your organization – wherever you are right now –design the perfect year-end campaign.  I want you to know what secret he said can double your year-end results.  And I’ll be asking him about last minute strategies for the last days of December.  How much more could you raise if you could produce the perfect year-end campaign using what you’ll learn from Mal?

Kivi Leroux Miller

Kivi Leroux Miller is one of fundraising’s rising marketing/ messaging stars.  She knows all about social media and how to make it work for you.  And she practices what she preaches – her weekly webinars are packed, her twitter followers are numerous, and she’s at the top of the search engine pages.

Currently writing “The Nonprofit Marketing Guide” to be published this spring, she’s the go-to expert for many nonprofits when they need marketing and messaging help.  And she’s on the big-time speaking circuit around the country when she’s not helping nonprofits sharpen their messages and their strategies.

• I’ll be interviewing Kivi for a full hour on how to help you  – wherever you are right now – write the perfect ask letter; how to use social media to followup solicitations; what kind of communications strategy we need all year long to make sure our donors feel friendly and generous.  How much more could you raise if you had a fabulous communications strategy using what you’ll learn from Kivi?

Carol Weisman

Carol Weisman is one of the best and most popular speakers around when it comes to fundraising.  She has been a wonderful mentor to me for the past year or two.  The fact that she used to be a standup comic certainly helps when it comes to training boards!  She’s published extensively on governance and fundraising and brings that wonderful sense of humor to all her books and speeches.

Carol’s latest book is “Transferring Ordinary People into Fundraising Superheros – Even Those Who Hate To Ask.” She offers strategy after strategy that regular people (ie, YOUR board members) can do to help raise money.

• I’ll be interviewing Carol for a full hour on how to help your organization – wherever you are right now – bring in board members as full participants, who own responsibility for the bottom line.   How much more could you raise if you had your board members fully on board using what you’ll learn from Carol?

Kim Klein

Kim Klein hardly needs an introduction.  She was one of the very first writers on fundraising – and is one of the most trusted speakers and thinkers in the business.  I have always appreciated her focus on simple strategies for grassroots organizations and have been reading her “Grassroots Fundraising Journal” for years now.

Her books are classics in the field, and she’s about to produce another one – “Reliable Fundraising in Unreliable Times: What Good Causes Need to Know to Survive and Thrive.” She’s written “Fundraising for Social Change,” “Fundraising for the Long Haul,” and is widely in demand as a speaker and consultant across the world.

• I’ll be interviewing Kim on how to help your year-end fundraising campaign – wherever it is right now –employ simple strategies that will increase your bottom line.  Even if you are a smaller organization without a big staff or budget.  How much more could you raise if you could get the maximum mileage out of the last two months of this year using what you’ll learn from Kim?

Laura Fredricks

One thing I love about Laura Fredricks is how she doesn’t beat around the bush when it comes to “asking.”  With her legal background (she is an attorney), she just doesn’t get the reluctance so many people have to ask.

And she’s a motivational speaker to boot.  Between her confidence and enthusiasm, she can fire up just about anybody.  Laura’s book, “Asking: How to Ask Anyone for Anything for Any Purpose” is a must-have resource for everyone.

• I’ll be interviewing Laura for a full hour on how to help your year-end fundraising campaign – wherever it is right now – make successful face-to-face asks.  Laura knows how to stage a successful ask, how to take the donor through the steps of the ask and what to say to make it happen.  How much more could you raise if you successfully employed face-to-face asks as part of your year-end strategy using what you’ll learn from Laura?

Simone Joyeaux

Simone Joyeaux has been at the top of our profession for over 20 years. She’s one of those famous gurus that we all want to hear, because her perspective is always fresh and compelling.  Simone’s books (“Keep Your Donors” and “Strategic Fund Development”) and articles are industry classics, and she’s in huge demand as a speaker and trainer around the world.  She even writes a regular column in the respected Nonprofit Quarterly magazine.

• I’ll be interviewing Simone for a full hour on how to help you – wherever you are right now – develop relationships with major donors that can yield major gifts? Simone knows what it really takes to get those major gifts in this tough environment. How much more could you raise if you brought in some significant major gifts before year-end using what you’ll learn from Simone?

Ted Hart

Ted Hart is THE social media guy in fundraising. He founded the ePhilanthropy Foundation, and is CEO at P2PFundraising.  And he’s all over the country – and the social media – expounding and delivering very savvy advice. He knows how to create on-line campaigns that deliver the donors.  I’m amazed at his scope – from ecommerce to websites to ephilanthropy – Ted’s got it down.

• I’ll be interviewing Ted for a full hour on how to help your year-end fundraising campaign – wherever it is right now – employ social media tools to draw in new supporters NOW and activate the current donors you have. How much more could you raise if you could fully employed social media tools using what you’ll learn from Ted?

Kay Sprinkel Grace

Kay is truly an international leader in fundraising. She’s one of the pundits that we all trust, because we like her so much. And her work on nonprofit boards has truly been enlightening.  She’s worked with hundreds of nonprofit clients around the world and is a sought-after speaker and workshop leader.

My favorite of all Kay’s books is “Beyond Fundraising: New Strategies for Nonprofit Innovation and Investment.” It’s dog-eared and highlighted to death.   But I also love “The Ultimate Board Member’s Book;” “Fundraising Mistakes that Bedevil All Boards,” and another all time favorite: “Beyond Goal! What You Must Know To Excel At Fundraising Today.”

• I’ll be interviewing Kay for a full hour on what your CEO’s and board chairs -– wherever they are right now – need to do to support your year-end fundraising campaign. She’ll tell them how to work with you and what they can do best to help bring in gifts. How much more could you raise if your CEO and board chair went all out to help your year-end campaign?

Margaret May Damen

Margaret May Damen is the guru of women’s giving. I met her at a National Speakers Association meeting where I was so impressed with her deep understanding of the motivations that bring women to give generously.  There’s something called “speaking female” that an organization has to do in order to inspire its female donors. Margaret May’s book will be out in January.

• I’ll be interviewing Margaret May for a full hour on how to help your year-end fundraising campaign – wherever it is right now – inspire your female donors to give generously.  How much more could you raise this year if you could open the hearts of your female donors with what you’ll learn from Margaret May?

Gail Perry

Gail PerryHi there, I’m Gail Perry CFRE, a fundraising consultant, speaker and trainer here in Raleigh, North Carolina. I’ve been thinking about  year-end strategies alot lately. I’ve  always felt that nonprofits could do a better job if they just had some expert guidance.  I’ve written my own book, “Fired Up Fundraising: Turn Your Board’s Passion into Action.”

I work hard to bring fresh fundraising approaches to my nonprofit friends. Everyone I know is so overworked in their fundraising jobs that they can’t see straight.  And their training budgets have been slashed this year.  I have been worrying about how to get them the guidance and help they need without breaking their miniscule budgets.

And all these experts were willing to work with me to create really low-cost training/coaching sessions just for nonprofit leaders.  They also all wanted to see everyone be successful this year – now when the world needs more help than ever.   We CAN raise more money and bring in more donors – if we are just smart and use the right tactics.

I certainly hope you will take advantage of this great opportunity to hear the experts’ recommendations for successful end-of-year fundraising this fall.  And even more, I hope you will implement as many of these strategies as possible so that you can improve your bottom line at a critically important time.

The Total Package

When you get access on the 2009 Year-End Strategy Telesummit, you’ll log into a private, members-only website where you’ll find everything you need to raise more money this fall:

9 information-packed hour-long interviews with fundraising’s top gurus, all in MP3 format – perfect for listening to in the car, on your computer or on your IPod.

9 fully edited transcripts – one for each interview – to make reviewing and note-taking a breeze. (Transcripts will be available shortly after the conclusion of the Telesummit event.)

These 9 hours of in-depth training represent an incredible value to your fundraising program. If you were to schedule an hour of time with each and every one of these experts, you’d be on the hook for two or three thousand dollars (you wouldn’t have any transcripts either).  But you’ll have ongoing access to all 9 of these calls for a lot less than even one of these experts would charge you for an hour of their time.

Oh, and what’s even better for you: you don’t have to work your schedule around the calls – they’ll be pre-recorded, fully edited and put in the owner’s area for you to download at your convenience.  I’m as busy as you are, and I know that letting you keep control over your own schedule is in your best interest.

Three Bonuses

I want to do everything in my power to guarantee that these expert interviews don’t just sit on your hard drive – I want to make sure that you’re able to put them into use so you can meet your fundraising goals this year.

So to load even more value on to your plate, here are three bonuses you’ll be receiving as a follow-on to the 2009 Year-End Strategies Telesummit:

Bonus 1

You’ll also receive a “Best of the Best: Highlights of the Telesummit” summary that I’ll record live as a webinar at 1pm on October 28.   As I listen to each expert, I’ll pull out the strategies that -

• will help you the fastest
• will give you the biggest return from your fundraising efforts
• will make all the difference in your bottom line this December.

If you miss the live webinar, you can still download the recording and read the transcript of my session.

Bonus 2

You’ll receive a detailed “Fast-Action Workbook” the week of October 26, designed to help you put each and every tactic covered in these calls into action.

YOU can listen to each of the calls at your convenience, letting as many “aha! moments” sink in – and when you’ve listened to them all, you’ll have this workbook on-hand to help you turn inspiration into action.

Bonus 3

Two weeks after you receive your Fast-Action Workbook and Best of the Best Highlights of the Telesummit audio, I’ll be personally holding two group coaching calls in November, where I answer follow-up questions that arise after the sessions. When you download your interviews and transcripts, you’ll have a chance to leave a comment with your questions, and I’ll wrap the most popular/highest-impact questions into the calls.

This is your chance to take the lessons you’re learning, apply them to your particular fundraising situation, and get follow-up questions answered as well.

These three bonuses – the Highlights of the Telesummit Summary, the Fast-Action Workbook and the two group coaching calls – represent at least two dozen hours of my time in getting them all together – and at my going rate of $1800/day, that’s about $5400 of value packed in for anyone interested in putting these strategies into action.

If you combine that with the consulting hours that these 9 experts are providing, and we’ve easily crossed the $10,000 mark.

And, the best news is that this $10,000 package is available for only $125.
